My Career Goals
As I mentioned in Capstone, my goals (both short and long-term) include both radio and television. I LOVE both - how can I decide now? :)
Since I'm already working @ both WKST & Froggy 95, I'm hoping to get a more steady position in radio (news, hopefully) at one of these stations - or another Forever Broadcasting station, since I have that connection now. Dr. B says "Pack Your Suitcase" and "Make Broadcasting Your #1 Priority" - I think these are the keys to reaching this goal.
As for my long-term goals... I just want to be HAPPY. I want to work hard & do well - & keep moving up until I reach where I feel is best for me. In Capstone, I mentioned Nashville, TN as an option of where I want to live - it's a 30 DMA, which is about as competitive a field I would ever like to enter. I would love a job as a TV reporter - with radio anchoring/dj-ing whenever I have the time to do that.
I'm hoping my goals will become clearer as I get closer to graduation. I just "Love the Business" so much that I don't want to limit or disappoint myself by setting extremely specific goals that will likely change.

You're on track-- I would suggest you consider refining your goals and developing a senior project that focuses on moving from the "part-time" venue to a "full-time" position. Research and consider what will help you transition internally or externally in such a move.
Megan: You should check in with Melissa B. and see if she's still doing the radio thing in Indiana.
