This Week in Broadcasting...

This Week in Broadcasting...
*The news went really well this morning (Saturday). Wade left me some pre-written stories -- so on top of the stories I also pre-wrote, I was less rushed getting stories ready for this morning's newscasts.
*Tonight I get to enjoy one of the perks of being in radio -- I have free tickets to see the Poverty Neck Hillbillies (one of my favorite country bands)! I also found out that I get to see Trace Adkins for free -- & MEET HIM!! I couldn't be more thrilled right now.
*Tomorrow I get my 2 hours of on-air time back @ Froggy (Steelers play @ 1PM). I'm definitely air-checking this week so I can get feedback from John -- & to critique myself.
*Monday I plan on airchecking the Morning Show - I need some recent stuff on tape! I also schedule for the last time @ Westminster. I'm trying for an internship @ WFMJ during Christmas break...the discussions are still in the works.
*The rest of the week is standard - Digital 88.9 News & WKST Afternoon News. I'm covering the New Castle City Council meeting on Tuesday for WKST -- so hopefully I will come back w/sound for both stations.

Career Goals...
*I was just talking with Mark "Dunn" (AKA "Tadpole") about this... I LOVE radio so much. Especially with the fun perks like meeting "famous" people and free tickets to local events. I've always had a strong interest in TV news. I'm hoping a TV internship will help me decide which area I plan on pursuing post-graduation.

Media-Related News...

*Court TV is offering free text messages to alert people who sign up for them about the results of the Scott Peterson trial. One message will signal the end of jury deliberations, & the latter message will tell whether Peterson is found "guilty" or "not guilty".
*Court TV Chairman and CEO Henry Schleiff says "With JuiceWireless' technology, Court TV can satisfy the public's desire for immediateinformation on this highly anticipated verdict."
