Broadcasting from...
This was the week of remote broadcasts! I had a blast meeting listeners, exploring the area, & just having a different on-air experience. Wednesday, I was at Hawkin's (supermarket) for a BBQ (the money raised benefits the Ashland Balloonfest). Not only was it a lot of fun (even in the rain), but I got free food! Ribs, coleslaw, baked beans... yum! Of course it was a "bribe" for me to talk about the food on the radio, but I'll take it!
Thursday night I kicked off the songs with "I Wanna Talk About Me" by Toby Keith at our Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue Karaoke Contest. ALL the contestants won tickets (a lil surprise to all of us from our Program Director). We also gave away WNCO-FM can cozies (a cold one & country music just kinda fit together!), WNCO-FM t-shirts, CDs, & tickets to Geauga Lake, Cedar Point, Put-in-Bay, & more. Everyone at the China Club was so appreciative & just nice. I really had a good time.
Today, I was in Loudonville at the Antique Festival & Car Show. No cars until tomorrow, but plenty of antique & food vendors. I had plenty to talk about -- from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
Over the past few days, I've had a number of listeners tell me what a great job I'm doing. My co-workers have given me a lot of feedback, as well.
I'm going to see Toby Keith next Friday. The next night is Gary Allen, Diamond Rio, & Keith Anderson. FREE, of course. Love those radio perks! Next Saturday is also some sort of corporate challenge -- which I'm participating in on behalf of Clear Channel.
