Last Full Week of Classes!
This Week in Broadcasting...
*I only had a half-hour of air-time on Froggy 95 this Sunday b/c of the Steelers game, but that gave me time to explore the Cool Edit program on the computer -- which was something neat. I figured it was a good idea since many job openings that I've found expect you to have experience using the program. Also, I "created" a "karaoke" version of "Party for Two" that Pat & I plan to use for a cute, new Pat & Megan in the Morning Promo for next semester.
*WKST is going well this week. I've been writing ahead a lot, since Wade (News Director) is on vacation. & sending everything related to Lawrence County back to WC for Digital 88.9 News.
*I'm still working on creating quality resume tapes for radio. The TV tape focus will come over Christmas break & next semester.
*John Thomas (Program Director) gave me 2 Poverty Neck Hillbillies (www.povertyneck.com) tickets for this Saturday's concert @ The Cellar, which is a fun bar in Struthers, OH. I can't wait!! :) I'm also going to see PNH on the 30th @ the Pepsi Cola Roadhouse.
Career Goals...
*Main goal: To get a job that pays more than my jobs now do post-graduation (in the broadcasting field.)
Media-Related News...
*Fox News has struck a deal with Clear Channel news/talk radio stations -- 1 minute newscasts every hour. I found this story on www.lostremote.com & one point made was that this is at the expense of the typical hourly ABC newscasts. "Foxcasts last only a minute and carry no commercial inventory. After all, who has time for five minutes of news anymore?"

You might be interested to know we've been trying to get PNH to play here, depending on how much they cost and what we can afford to spend next semester. Just a thought! ^_^
On the job front: Have you considered crafting a list/database of news talk radio stations in the states you'd like to live, including TN? That may be one route to explore as you get ready to send out letters and audition demos next semester.
