So far everything is going wonderfully. Tuesday & Wednesday, my parents & I spent unpacking & organizing & decorating at my apartment in Ashland, OH. My dad & I took a little tour of the town, too, so now I'm more familiar with my immediate area. We found a 2nd route for me to take to the station -- both ways only take about 4 minutes, yay!

Wednesday morning I spent time with Ron (WNCO-FM Program Director) & Gene (WNCO-AM Program Director) at the station. The "Restaurant of the Week" was Logan's Roadhouse -- so we had STEAK, among other tasty food, for breakfast. Not a bad way to start my new job :) I also met A LOT of people that I will be working with -- & am trying to remember names Fresh Start style -- using adjectives with each name to help me remember each person. Hopefully this works, 'coz I'm pretty bad at remembering names!

Ron & Gene had me observe their morning show voicetracking -- & they introduced me as the new nighttime personality. I spent the rest of the morning learning voicetracking with NextGen step-by-step (very similiar to Prophet, which I used for the past year at WKST/WWGY). I've been listening to the station as much as possible so I'm more prepared for the different format. Ron is very big on call letters (much like every station!) & also backannouncing songs -- not just the previous song that played, but about three previous songs (something new for me, but easy to get used to.)

So far, I love the people I work with -- & just the entire atmosphere!

Thursday my parents, Buddy Girl (my puppy), & I all squeezed into the truck to come back to Pittsburgh (I still have some friends to say goodbye to). At night, I met up with Susie & Jim (my roommates this past year) & we went to our favorite wings place in Moon Township (Wings, Suds, & Spuds -- if you've never been there, you gotta go & get cheese fries & ranch wings!) then to Jim's house to see all his fun animals -- 2 donkeys (Dewey & Dinky!), 2 horses, 3 cats, & 4 dogs! We had a lot of fun playing with the animals & chatting with Jim's family.

Later that night, we drove to Station Square to see the PovertyNeck Hillbillies at the Red Star Tavern. STACY SMITH from KDKA-TV was there... I really wanted to talk to him, but he seemed to be trying to stay low-key. If it was Jeff Verszyla, I prob would've climbed across the booth to talk to him no matter what, but that's a different story... haha.

It's so cool "knowing" the band -- I said hello to Dave Cramer & Chris Abby... but I talked to Crafty (the nicest "guy in a band" you'll ever meet!) for a pretty long time -- mostly about how sad I was that I wouldn't see them perform as much now that I'm living in Ohio. But the band, like me, is trying to get bigger & better... so hopefully they'll be playing all over the US pretty soon. Just like I will be taking over the airwaves :):)

Today I'm heading back to Ashland to settle in before I start my new job officially Monday morning at 11AM.
