Finals Week

This Week in Broadcasting...

*This weekend, Ashley & I reeped the benefits of being a commercial radio broadcaster w/our free tix to see the PovertyNeck Hillbillies. We had a GREAT time @ the concert -- & even got to chat w/most of the guys.

*VERY UNFORTUNATELY, after the concert, SuZ & I decided to make a trip to Eat N Park -- which by early morning, gave us both a nasty case of food poisoning. This incident caused me to miss work TWO DAYS -- which I hate! But tomorrow it's back to WKST for the afternoon news after my Religion 162 final (can't wait to get this one over with!)

*It worked out nicely that this week is pretty smooth sailing for me -- concerned with school and finals first, and work second. I work Weds - Friday, & then not again until Sunday night -- a Saturday morning off, woo hoo! :)

Career Goals...

*I'm really itching to get involved with reporting for TV news again at Westminster. I want to PERFECT that resume tape -- & really work on my skills!

*Still waiting for that mini-disc player & recorder to arrive @ the Forever Broadcasting studios, but hopefully that will allow for much easier and more sophisticated news gathering in the Spring.

Megan: I would work on brainstorming two really strong ideas for enterprising stories that could get submitted to CNN Newsource. It's like trying to submit a story to AP, but now your going for a more regional appeal. For example, I did a story once on a snow ski class for blind people that was picked up by Skycom (that was the NBC version of CNN Newsource before Newsource or the NBC Newschannel). What do you think?

I'm also recruiting folks to be talent for field producers in BC 308. Interested?
