DJ Shifts

In response to Mr. Weaver's comment... I can't even explain exactly how much I've "grown" from doing DJ shifts throughout my last 3 1/2 years at Westminster College.

I've learned different approaches and techniques from working on air with different people -- like Pat, Tandi, Erika Hink, Amanda Oliveri, Heather Storm, and Mike Wolenski. Each person has a different style and approach to radio announcing -- and even sometimes a different approach to technical aspects. I've learned so much from all of you -- not to mention Dr. B and Mr. Weaver -- and everyone I now work with at Froggy 95 and WKST.

My experience ad-libbing has taught me major confidence -- which you can even hear in my voice during shifts. I know this skill will help me in both further DJ and Reporting/Anchoring careers.

My FAVORITE class at Westminster was "Radio and TV Announcing" -- I learned so much! Especially about how radio and TV compliment each other -- you can learn about one from doing the other. Underclassmen: Take this class as early as you can! For me, it solidified what I want to do after graduation -- and helped me focus my ventures to on-air.
