Happy Valentine's Day!

This weekend was AMAZING! I spent time on my full-time job hunt Friday. Saturday I did a live "Lovey Dovey Weekend" shift from 9-1 on Titan Radio... & then voicetracked the last hour. Boy have I missed Titan Radio!

Saturday night was the PovertyNeck Hillbillies -- sooo much fun, as always. I met the Program Director of K105, Dave Steele. I'm going to send him my latest resume this week. It felt so good to already be a "media professional" mingling with people from another local station.

I also signed my first AUTOGRAPH on Saturday night at the concert. Mark Martin's friends' children listen to Froggy 95 & apparently love the station -- & all of us. So they had us all sign a paper. Next autograph will be "Megan Marshall" instead of "Toadie Foster" haha!

This week we are self-training ourselves on the MetroSource news -- we will soon be using sound again! WKST is getting back to where it was before the ownership switch. I'm having a very positive outlook on this!

Career Goals...
* I want to be ON-AIR! I love radio announcing -- DJ shifts AND news anchoring/reporting. I would love to continue working in TV, too.

Media-Related News...
* "After everyone sang "Across the Universe" on the Grammys last night, viewers were told over and over again to buy their copy on iTunes or hear it streamed on CBS.com, with donations going to tsunami relief. But it both cases, it wasn't online."
** from www.lostremote.com **
* The article says two hours after they promoted the download on the Grammy broadcast, the song still wasn't there! Bet they missed a lot of impulse buys...

* THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO'S GIVEN ME FEEDBACK. IT MEANS SO MUCH! *

FYI: Laura has offered to share her resume building and cover letter book. You mentioned you want to work on cover letters-- an I do recall the how to book she has includes a number of good examples.

I think we need to reschedule for next Friday as the radio news folks are planning a lunch time meeting.
